IS SUMMER HERE?

Well I have finally managed to sit down and actually write something new on the blog! It has been a very hectic few months - getting ready for our first time at the bctf in Harrogate and fulfilling subsequent orders has meant I have not had much spare time.

Now the dust has settled I can catch my breath, however, my head is spinning with new design ideas for the coming few months which keep me very busy making a new range of handbags and scarves.

But we did find the time to do the summer pots this weekend and they do brighten the garden up, even though the temperature has plummeted over the last couple of days. It is nice to see the plants beginning to flower, the colours are very inspirational at this time of year. They make me want to go out and look for new fabric and wool.

For sometime now I have been hunting for vintage fabrics to work with, and I have managed to source several online shops specialising in these two of my favorites are donnaflower.com and vintagefabricmarket.co.uk Both of these sites are useful if you are looking for good quality, unusual vintage fabrics and haberdashery.

Lots of inspiration and choice.

Just waiting for some new knitting needles to arrive and itching to get started on some new scarves. Always a stylish accessory for any outfit, scarves are fashionable whether they are skinny, broad, long or short they can liven up any outfit whatever the season. They are always great in winter to snuggle up with to make us feel warm, but we must not ignore the scarf in summer a delicate silk or cotton scarf can add a luxurious quality to an outfit. Equally a skinny long scarf can add a sassy quality to a pair of jeans.

So come on girls dig out those scarves.

Our new range of textiles

Well I have been spending the last couple of days cutting out the new patterns for our spring/summer range of handbags and as you can see from the small selection of fabric we will be using, the colours are vibrant and rich which have been chosen to complement our Aurora and Sahara collections.

Designing and making handbags is very challenging, as we all know girls our handbags are very personal to us and we like to have a new bag to suit every possible event and situation. The challenge for me has been to make bags that are unashamedly girlie whilst at the same time being practical. Colour is the key for us (as with our jewellery) and gives us a feminine product, whilst also being fun.

We want women to have fun with our accessories and experiment with colour, so a lot of our new range of bags will also be embellished in some way. We tried this with a few bags in our winter range and it proved very popular so we have decided to extend this for the spring/summer range, and we are currently awaiting some gorgeous trimmings which I can't wait to see, and see how these work with the new fabrics.

The next couple of months will be very exciting for us developing our new ranges and developing the web site to reflect the changes we have made.

Hi Everyone,

Well the snow has finally gone and my wool has arrived and I am delighted with it. I am brimming with both enthusiasm and inspiration, oh how I only wish there were more hours in a day! The colours are wonderfully rich and warm, the fabric for the new bags has also arrived this week and we are really pleased and they will fit perfectly into our new spring and summer ranges.

Much of my inspiration comes from nature and this we hope will be very evident in the new ranges which will be available over the next few months. This is also reflected in the choice of wools we will be incorporating into our textile range - which have been ethically sourced we feel this is of benefit to everyone when and where this is possible to do. I am hoping to incorporate these yarns both in my hand felted products and also using them to crochet a range of fashion scarves for spring, summer and winter, using the wide range of colours which can already be found in our jewellery.

Happy New Year

Hi Everyone,

Well we are just begining to catch our breath and take stock after a busy year end. Thanks to everyone who has supported us over the last 9 months it has been great and we are looking forward to 2010. We have got plenty of new ideas for the coming year so keep in touch with the website, we will be having a regular newsletter to keep you updated as to what is coming up.

Well I am particularly excited and waiting in anticipation for some new wool, and fabric...we have had great success with our range of handbags and scarves that we will be expanding this year with more designs. I have some really super colours coming and can't wait to get started on the new range. I love working with colour, I find it very theraputic so much so and feel so much better wearing something with colour, it brightens everything and totally makes a difference to how we feel .....so come on girls let's accessorise with colour and brighten these drab January days.

Keep smiling
